A Journey Full of Opportunities and Changes
Melanie initially attended the HAK in Steyr, which at the time already had a focus with its first PC class that is similar to today's media design programs. However, like many young people, she realized that it is difficult to make the right decision for your professional future at a young age. After some time, she therefore decided to take a different path: an apprenticeship at weba. She was particularly impressed by how progressive the company was even back then. Even back then, admission tests were carried out on the PC, which tested a wide range of skills - from general knowledge to demanding multitasking tasks. For Melanie, this was the first indication of the company's innovative strength.
The Apprenticeship Years: Responsibility from the Start
Melanie was given a lot of responsibility at weba right from the start. “I was quickly allowed to work independently and take on responsibility,” she recalls. Her trainer was not only demanding, but also supportive, which helped Melanie to develop quickly. She was particularly impressed by the appreciative corporate culture right from the start.
Diverse Tasks in the Office Area
After her apprenticeship, Melanie took on tasks in office organization. At that time, the company structure was still smaller and employees were often responsible for different areas at the same time. During this time, Melanie took on a variety of tasks - from transport organization, inquiries and ordering, invoicing to working on the employee newspaper “weba News”. This versatility shaped her further development.
A Transition to the Finance Department
As the company expanded, the structures changed and so did Melanie's tasks. She provided support in payroll accounting and gained new experience in the finance department. But after a few years, she was looking for new challenges - and found them.
Fresh Start in Production
In her current role as Assistant to the Production Management, Melanie is deeply involved in many aspects of production operations. She thrives on collaborating with a variety of colleagues, engaging in project work, and taking responsibility for smaller organizational tasks. "It's exciting to witness the production milestones and see the results of our teamwork," she shares enthusiastically. At the same time, she has the opportunity to lead independent projects, such as in the areas of occupational safety and security audits – yet another testament to the fact that learning and development at weba never stop.
Collaboration and Personal Highlights
Over the years, Melanie has witnessed not only the growth of the company but also the strengthening of team spirit at weba. Where departments once operated more independently, cross-departmental collaboration has now become a key part of the corporate culture. "Friendships develop, and people support each other. That's what makes weba special."
Love at Work: A Personal Highlight
A truly unique chapter of her career is meeting her now-husband at weba. "For us, it has always been a great enrichment, rarely a challenge," Melanie shares with a smile.
“There's never a dull moment at weba. I'm proud to be part of this team and look forward to everything that's to come.”
